• No love at first sight, no coming out women but women who are in a long relationship. Very refreshing. This was really a humorous story. A bumbling amateur sleuth, cute pets, three great couples and a crazy old lady and you have a combination that guarantees a few lovely hours of reading. I did not know this writer but I'm glad I bought her book. I hope to read a new book from her soon.This is really worth reading.
• Start with the beautiful desert resort town of Palm Springs. Add landscape designer and amateur detective Shannon Patrick and her wealthy clients, they're fabulous estate homes and sleazy bad guys. Mix in her blue-eyed wife Karen, the collectibles dealer, Native American artifacts, more creepy bad guys and gorgeous women in and out of uniform and you have this delightful summer read. The dogs, cats, birds and farm animals are an ongoing story line that is hysterical, hilarious, wise and just plain barnyard. Looking forward to more adventures from self-deprecating sleuth Shannon Patrick from freshman author Lin Phillipi.
• Dear Lin, Thank you for giving your character's normal names, not initials. Thank you for giving them real jobs not CEO,s, famous writers, or FIB operatives. Thank you for conveying love between the principle characters without endless pages of descriptive sex. Thank you for a good story and,thank you, in advance, for the sequel.
• Great read!! I know Lin, which is why I bought the book. This is her first novel and she nails it. Set in Palm Springs, we follow the protagonist, Shannon, as she hilariously becomes enmeshed in the shady business of others. Think Sue Grafton style, which is a great compliment!
• It was a quick read and an enjoyable one. I look forward to more landscape stories in the series. When is the next one?

• I don't usually consider myself a fan of mysteries, but this one looked cute and I decided to check it out. It is definitely cute... in fact, adorable. It's a good mystery with a healthy blend of humor and romance and I found it, and Shannon, the main character, utterly charming. I'll be looking forward to more from this author, and will definitely be hoping for more Shannon mysteries.
